CP60

The Simrad CP60 is a compact and efficient current profiler that provides precise water current measurements in up to five user-defined layers. Operating at 200 kHz with a range of up to 200 meters (depending on acoustic conditions), the CP60 is ideal for purse seine operations and vessels focused on detailed current analysis.

When used alongside the Simrad ES80, the CP60 integrates seamlessly, sharing the same computer and monitor setup. It appears as a dedicated tab within the ES80 interface, allowing for quick access and intuitive operation. When deployed as a standalone system, a separate computer and monitor are required.

The CP60 features three current beams—one vertical and two angled at 60° to the sides and 15° forward, providing directional current speed, NSWE direction, and backscatter data. With beam angles as narrow as 5°, users receive precise profiling, while a built-in single-beam echo sounder with a 27° opening angle enables fish detection high in the water column.

Installation is straightforward with a 20-meter open-ended cable, and data output is via standard NMEA CUR telegrams, allowing integration with Simrad sonar and other compatible systems. Additional measurements like SOG (Speed Over Ground), COG (Course Over Ground), and temperature further enhance its utility.

The CP60 supports more than 20 languages and features a familiar Simrad interface, ensuring ease of use across global fleets. Whether integrated or standalone, the CP60 delivers valuable environmental insights that support smarter and more sustainable fishing operations.
