Technical Support Engineer

Your role:
As a Technical Support Engineer, you will be the point of contact for technical questions about JRC and Alphatron equipment. You will support customers and colleagues worldwide via our helpdesk.
- Provide customer support by telephone and email.
- Register technical support questions.
- Follow up and handle tickets, including correct time registration.
- Evaluate and close support tickets, and contribute to the knowledge base.
- Ensure that questions that cannot be resolved remotely are forwarded to the appropriate department.
As you gain more experience, you will be challenged by increasingly complex issues:
- Provide support for advanced system designs and contribute ideas about integrations.
- Installation and commissioning support, remotely.
- Identifying and resolving complex malfunctions.
- Providing input for training courses and giving training courses to colleagues or customers.
- Maintaining contact with our regional and global service organisations, Product Management and R&D.
- Preparing technical updates and contributing to manuals and FAQs.
In this role, you will primarily provide second-line support for malfunctions and technical questions about our equipment on board ships worldwide. In addition, you will advise Sales, provide input for training courses and help to keep our knowledge base continuously up to date.
No two days are the same, and you will continue to develop your skills.

Who will you be working with?
You will interact daily with:
- The Training department for setting up and conducting training courses.
- Sales and Warranty for advice and warranty questions.
- Other specialists, R&D and Product Management worldwide.
- Customers for analysing malfunctions.
- Service Administration for recording hours worked.
Who are you?
- MBO degree in Electrical Engineering or Maritime Technology;
- Relevant experience with navigation and communication systems is a must for this job.
- A proactive work attitude: you think in terms of solutions and work accurately.
- Customer and service-oriented.
- Strong communication and social skills.
- A full-time job;
