Aftersales Engineer

What does your day look like as an Aftersales Engineer?
As an Aftersales Engineer, you are the face between our customers and Alphatron Marine. You visit new vessels upon delivery, check customer satisfaction, and solve technical issues if necessary. You learn this on the job from your colleagues. You train customers in the use and maintenance of Alphatron systems. In addition, you answer technical questions from customers via our helpdesk.
You are part of the Customer Support department and work closely with other departments such as Service, Project Engineering, Training, Logistics, and R&D. You are in regular contact with our subsidiaries, dealers, and customers worldwide. The team consists of a Manager, 2 Aftersales Engineers, 2 Technical Support Engineers, and 4 Warranty Controllers.
Your main responsibilities are:
- Clearly and accurately documenting performed work and used parts.
- Repairing navigation and communication systems (warranty items) at shipyards or homeports worldwide.
- Providing support to the technical helpdesk.
- Handling technical warranty claims.
During your onboarding, you will quickly become familiar with our way of working and our equipment portfolio. You will soon work independently but can always rely on colleagues for support when needed. In this role, you regularly travel to vessels and yachts to carry out service and commissioning work. Sometimes this means being abroad for a few days, while other projects may require several weeks of travel. When not traveling, you will work from our office in Rotterdam, where you also share your expertise with colleagues. With your experience, you are able to handle complex jobs and take responsibility for delivering high-quality solutions to our customers worldwide.
Who are you?
You have knowledge of navigation and communication systems onboard ships. You value quality, are customer-oriented, proactive, and solution-minded. You are technically strong and eager to learn.
For this position we require:
- A completed MBO or HBO degree in Electrical Engineering (or similar).
- Knowledge of integrated bridge systems.
- Fluent professional communication in English (Dutch is a plus).
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, See Electrical, and ERP systems is a plus.
- Willingness to work worldwide in a multicultural environment.
- Flexibility and willingness to travel and work outside regular office hours.
Our offer
- Employment conditions in line with your responsibilities.
- Continuous training in product knowledge, including applications (integrated bridge systems, ECDIS, Dynamic Positioning, etc.).
- An independent role with opportunities for further development.
- A company car for both business and private use.
- At least 25 vacation days.
- Extra vacation days if you are not absent due to illness.
- Access to training programs for your professional development.
- A good pension scheme with a low personal contribution.
- A company car, overtime allowance, and the possibility to compensate overtime with time off.
