Enquêtes de classe

For you, shipowners and operators, safety and efficiency are of the utmost importance. Vessels operate in demanding conditions and must meet strict safety standards. You look at vessel classification to help you to secure a license to operate, control and reduce safety and security risks, and comply with strict regulations. We are able to help you maintain these standards.

Alphatron Marine has qualified surveyors to perform annual GMDSS radio surveys and VDR/S-VDR APT certification which are mandatory according to the IMO (International Maritime Organization) and each country’s national authorities. Besides these surveys, our surveyors are trained and equipped to carry out Shore-Based Maintenance (SBM), annual performance tests, annual tests of EPIRB, AIS, SART or Marine Radios, and other navigation and safety equipment. All of these survey activities of Alphatron Marine are included in our certified ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System.

Our head office in the Netherlands has experienced surveyors that are audited and approved for the following class societies; ABS, Bureau Veritas, China Classification Society, ClassNKK, DNV-GL, Lloyds Register, Korean Register, RINA, MCA, and our Dutch Human Environment and Transport Inspectorate, Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment (IL&T). Worldwide surveys and service

As a result of our solution-seeking nature, we are able to support the JRC brand with a full range of consumable spare-parts, including batteries and acoustic beacons (types: JCY-1000/1700/1700S/1800/1850/1900/1950). Whether we need to carry out surveys in Europe, Africa, America, Asia, or the Middle East, we are fully prepared for each task. Worldwide survey service is also available upon request. Repair is possible as well and is supported with qualified technicians and a full range of parts from our stock. In the unfortunate event of an incident, we can be on scene instantly to retrieve VDR data for the authorities, owners and insurance companies.

GMDSS

A radio survey is a set of various services to verify and confirm the readiness and safety of the ship for navigation in the appropriate sea area. The condition of the ship and its equipment must be maintained in accordance with the provisions of the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) regulations to ensure that the ship remains ready to sail to the sea in all respects without endangering the ship or persons onboard. These periodic tests will be performed within three months before or after the expiration date of the onboard Cargo Ship Safety Radio certificate.

VDR/S-VDR

Voyage data recorder (VDR) or Simplified Voyage data recorder (SVDR) is a data recording system designed for all vessels required to comply with the IMO's International Convention SOLAS Requirements in order to collect data from various sensors onboard the vessel. The annual testing of VDR/S-VDR required by SOLAS regulation V/20 should be carried out by the manufacturer or a person authorized by the manufacturer, in our case Japan Radio Company (JRC). The test is performed by one of our certified service technicians to verify the accuracy, duration, and recoverability of the recorded data. A copy of the certificate of conformity issued by the test facility with the date of conformity and the applicable performance standards must be kept onboard the ship.

JRC must complete a review, record any changes, and issue the completed test report within 45 days. To accommodate performance checks to align with the appropriate survey under the Harmonized System of Survey and Certification (HSSC), the annual performance check may be carried out up to 3 months before the due date for a passenger ship and -/+ 3 months of the due date for a cargo ship. The maximum period between subsequent checks is, therefore, 15 months for passenger ships and 18 months for cargo ships, unless either certificate has been extended as permitted by SOLAS regulation I/14, in which case a similar extension may be granted. In short, the annual performance test of VDR or S-VDR must be performed within the time frame of the annual/periodic/renewal survey, but no later than the date of completion of the survey for approval/renewal of the relevant certificate.
