Wanneer een schip wordt uitgerust met nieuwe apparaten, is het essentieel voor bemanningsleden om de specifieke kenmerken van deze apparaten te leren. We horen vaak zelfs de meest ervaren kapiteins en navigatie officieren zeggen dat ze baat hebben bij dit type training, omdat verschillen tussen merken, producten en software ervoor zorgen dat elk apparaat anders werkt. Onze gecertificeerde instructeurs bieden u de nieuwste tips en trucs voor het gebruik van onze apparatuur die vaak moeilijk te begrijpen zijn met alleen handleidingen. Operationele training kan plaatsvinden (wereldwijd) aan boord van uw schip of in een van onze klaslokalen. Dit type training is beschikbaar voor iedereen die geïnteresseerd is.

The ECDIS Type Specific Training Wärtsilä (Transas) provides you with the required knowledge for the general use of the ECDIS as well as a detailed introduction to the system’s features. Participants are recommended to bring their own laptop for the USB flash drive.
CURRICULUM Some of the key points covered in this training (in both theory and practice) are:
• Legal aspects and requirements
• Basic navigation functions
• Principal types of electronic charts
• Presentation of ECDIS data
• Route planning
• Route monitoring
• Maps and manual correction
• Display and functions of other navigation information
• Handling / updating charts and licensesENTRY REQUIREMENTS
• Participant must have basic knowledge of navigation (by copy of seaman’s book) • Participant must have completed the IMO Model Course 1.27 (basic ECDIS knowledge)

Certification of maritime education for operation and familiarization on JRC ECDIS models JAN-701B/901B/2000.
JRC JAN 901B/701B/2000 type-specific training course provides officers with the system knowledge required to use this ECDIS for watchkeeping in accordance with the regulations of STCW and the ISM Code. The guided tutorial, with a duration of approx. 16 hours, covers the equipment familiarisation requirements of IMO Model Course 1.27 and MCA MIN-503(M) for the functions and controls of the JAN 901B/701B/2000 ECDIS. A course booking provides you with a three-week time frame to complete the course, repeating Modules where necessary, and to use the “FreePlay” Mode, which allows you to practice freely on the manufacturer’s original, type-approved, software. The courseware includes a final test of no more than 1-hour duration, which can also be repeated, leading to an individual certificate.
This course is designed for all officers of the bridge team involved in ensuring the safe navigation of the vessel.
