JRC ECDIS success in Greece

23 June 2015

The Greeks, more than any other people in the world have been mariners without interruption throughout history. At 100 years old, JRC also has a comparable history in the field of marine electronics, something that the great shipping nation of Greece recognizes now more than ever how JRC is putting trust and reliability into products like no one else. This could be why the JRC ECDIS is the preferred choice of many shipping companies today.

With new mandates and especially for retrofitting projects, cost effective choices are typically made. Many owners have already chosen one JRC ECDIS at the new building stage over the last few years. Not only are they choosing now to install a second ECDIS to sail paperless, but with the ECDIS mandate for existing tankers coming into effect this year, we are seeing something entirely different in Greece. Choosing for quality, reliability and total cost of ownership above any other aspect and priority. With one fifth of the world fleet, JRC is pleased and honored to have such a great returning customer base in Greece and now shipping companies such as Eletson, Euronav, Maran Tankers, Anangel Maritime, Pantheon Tankers, Tsakos Columbia Shipmanagement, Springfield, Dynacom, Costamare, Sun Enterprises, Iolcos Hellenic, Nereus Shipping, Carras Hellas, Super Eco Tankers, Chandris, Hellespont Steamship, Safety Management, Polembros and Almi Tankers. These and many other medium and small sized shipping companies have chosen JRC ECDIS, with an astonishing order record of 700 IMO approved units in less than a year solely for the retrofit business. JRC users have had the benefit of experiencing a product created by devoted employees who have worked hard to make the JRC product better. With over 25 years of ECDIS experience we are developing and producing all hardware and software in house we believe that we have one of the world’s most advanced and future proof solutions available today. With the hardware our customer are also choosing for a long term commitment. JRC is offering global support and after sales service and type specific training is available in over thirty countries. Just as we have with every other past new IMO carriage requirement, JRC remains as committed as ever to a product support philosophy that continues long after the carriage requirements have been fulfilled.
