Group size expanded for ECDIS training due to considerable demand

Following the considerable market demand for the non-academic ECDIS training (IMO model course 1.27) by Alphatron Marine, we have expanded the size of the group from 4 to 8 participants for each course from 1 January 2014. This practical training takes place at least fortnightly in a professional environment with other experienced navigation officers.

The ECDIS training is compulsory for ships built from 2012. By 1 January 2017 at the latest all ships must be equipped with ECDIS and training given. The Environment and Transport Inspectorate (formerly the Dutch Shipping Inspectorate) has given Alphatron Marine permission for the expansion. Alphatron has invested in four additional simulators so that there is one simulator per participant. Registration From now on you can reserve a training week for 8 people at our headquarters in Rotterdam or register individually, of course. Our website contains the fortnightly training schedule for 2014. There is a possibility that the training frequency will become weekly.
