Business Development Manager

Our ideal candidate is a self-motivated professional with excellent client relationship-building skills and a strong sales skill set. The applicant should have a minimum of five-to-seven years sales management experience within the Maritime industry.

The Business Development Manager is responsible for the Sales and Marketing activities within Alphatron Marine USA, serving the area assigned to the Center of Excellence. They provide input to maximize customer satisfaction and identify objectives, strategies and action plans to improve short- and long- term sales. 

Position requirements 

  • Implements the Alphatron Marine Group Sales vision and strategy through SMART objectives and reporting thereof
  • Gain a clear understanding of the customer’s business and sales requirements for operations to support the customer and meet/exceed expectations
  • Conduct marketing campaigns in assigned territory with the help of the corporate office
  • Educates sales team by establishing programs/seminars in the areas of new account sales and growth, sales of emerging products and multi-product sales, profitability, improved presentation strategies, competitive strategies, proper use and level of sales support
  • Pursue and manage business in Maritime Industry
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activity
  • Produces accurate forecasts; annual, quarterly and monthly revenue streams for Sales department
  • Development and implementation of specific plans to ensure revenue growth in all current and potential products and markets
  • Provides quarterly reports and monthly activity reports on sales staff productivity
  • Formulates and controls all local sales policies, practices and procedures
  • Establishes sales promotion and exhibition budgets in consultation with General Manager
  • Assists sales personnel in establishing personal contact with relevant decision makers in the industry
  • Meets regularly with his team to discuss and plan improvements in procedures, sales efforts, revenue and gross margin
  • Interprets short- and long-term effects of sales strategies on operating profit

Knowledge, skills and abilities

  • Must have in-depth JRC product knowledge
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, even when under pressure
  • Must be self-motivated, goal and customer oriented
  • Aggressive mentality with strong team leadership
  • Effective communication and presentation skills
  • The ability to negotiate with excellent closing skills
  • Willingness to travel (approximately 25% of the time)

Education and experience

  • Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or equivalent industry experience in Sales Management
